PRIME — April 2012 Experience Music at United and the Springfield Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a silent movie entitled "Speedway" starring William Haines. In the movie, Haines plays a racecar mechanic who woos Anita Page and eventually gets the chance to drive a racecar himself in the Indianapolis 500. It will take place on April 14, at 7 p.m. at the United Congregational Church of Holyoke in the main sanctuary. The guest organist is Peter Edwin Krasinski, a conductor, and music educator whose imaginative performances elevates and informs diverse audiences. He is quickly becoming recognized as the world's most exciting, accomplished and elegant accompanist of silent films. In 2002, he won first prize in Improvisation in the American Guild of Organists national competition in Philadelphia. He was subsequently named as a judge for the competition and featured improviser for the 2004 AGO national convention in Los Angeles. Peter is an internationally known organist who has played in Yokohama, Japan. United Congregational Church of Holyoke is bounded by High, Appleton (141), and Maple Streets. Ample free parking is located in the lot immediately across Appleton Street and in the lot behind the War Memorial Building, across Maple St. from the church. Street parking is free. The sanctuary is fully accessible. All concerts are offered for a suggested donation of $10 ($5 for students and seniors).
