PRIME – February 2013 AGAWAM, Mass. – The ninth season of the Agawam Cultural Council's popular Applause Series continues at the Agawam Senior Center, 954 Main St., on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. when the popular local band, Good Acoustics, returns for its third free concert since 2008. Comprised of Western Massachusetts educators Mike Smith, Dave Fazio, and Bill DeSanty, Good Acoustics is a rock-solid trio of seasoned vocalist and musicians with the versatility to perform everything from vocal favorites by Crosby Stills & Nash to classics from Journey. Smith, a music teacher from Longmeadow, is a former member of the band Paris, with high tenor vocals reminiscent of Steve Perry and Sting. Dave Fazio, a sixth grade classroom teacher in Agawam, handles bass. An accordion player by age six and bass guitarist by age 12, Fazio played in the band Victory for nearly 20 years. His edgy vocals bring to mind those of John Mellencamp and Van Morrison. Percussionist Bill DeSanty teaches music in Palmer and was part of well-known local groups Arabus, Paris, and Passport before helping form Good Acoustics. DeSanty's style of drumming combines the finesse of Phil Collins and the power of Steve Gadd while his vocal style is reminiscent of James Taylor. These three performers have been tearing it up with local bands up and down the east coast for more than 20 years. Now celebrating their sixth year together, Good Acoustics rocks like they've never been apart. This event is sponsored by Grimaldi & Burzdak Realtors. Additional information on each of the Applause Series events is available at the Agawam Cultural Council website, www.agawamcc.org. Bookmark and Share
