Have you decided "What's Next?" yet? debgardner.jpg
Sometimes, the coolest part of my job as an editor here at Reminder Publications/PRIME Magazine is finding out just how on top of trends we really are. Yes, I'm tooting my horn just a little bit here. So here's the story . I was giving my e-mail a last-minute check as we were closing this issue and there in my inbox was press about a new reality program "What's Next" launching this week on a cable channel called Retirement Living TV (RLT). If you have Comcast Cable, you might have caught one of Retirement Living's programs called Daily Cafe on channel CN8 at 11 a.m. The premise behind this program is that a team of experts from RLT cris-crossing the country in a RV will be making stops to help newly-retired individuals figure out what to do with their newly-found free time. According to the press release I received, the concept for this program came from a daughter who was frustrated with her father's lack of life direction and purpose after he retired. Sounds to me as if her dad needed to read some of the books I've introduced you, my readers, to over the past two months. (Or at least he should have read last month's PRIME!) Anyway, I checked out the video clip and background on the program at RLT's Web site, and it looks pretty interesting. You can check it out yourself at http://rl.tv/OurShows/WhatsNext/tabid/899/Default.aspx It's worth a look. at press time Comcast gave me the following times for "What's Next" April 4, 11,18 and 25, at 2 p.m The program will air on cable channel CN8. If you've been reading PRIME you already know "What's Next"! This month PRIME continues its two-part look at retirement planning with a segment we called "covering all your bases." An adjunct to last month's segment on purpose planning and fiscally responsible projections, this month we look at planning for insurance needs (especially prescription costs), living arrangements, estate plans and what we like to call your encore (be it a part-time job or volunteering, you'll need to keep busy for the next 20 years or so!). If you missed last month's installment, check the features archive of our web site, www.reminderpublications.com/primeonline. Happy planning!
