The Springfield Hobby Club will hold their annual Fall Bazaar/Craft Sale on Nov. 8 and 9 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 309 Chestnut St. (lower Franklin next to the YMCA). In addition to their craft tables, there will be a snack bar, bake sale, jewelry and white elephant tables and members tables. The Thrift Shop will hold a fill-a-bag for $5 during the same hours. Nov. 10, Holiday Craft Fair, Agawam Senior Center, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Light lunch available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 11, 5th Annual Veteran's Day Concert. The Suffield Arts Council is announces that the 102nd Army Band of the Connecticut Army National Guard will be performing a free concert at Suffield High School, Nov. 11 at 2:30 .m. Seating is general admission. Doors will open at 2 p.m. The facility is handicap accessible and plenty of parking. Nov. 11, Sarah Horowitz and Alpha Botanica. The National Yiddish Book Center, located on the campus of Hampshire College, 1021 West St., Amherst, will present artist Sarah Horowitz, discussing her new work, Alpha Botanica a book of engraved alphabets on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries around the country, including the Boston, New York and San Francisco public libraries, and collections of Harvard, Yale and Princeton. After breaking box office records in 2005, Wicked is set to return to Hartford's The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One born with emerald-green skin is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, and how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. Nov 15-17, 8 p.m., Fall Dance Concert. Smith College's and Mount Holyoke College's Departments of Dance team up to present two seminal American dance works. An excerpt from George Balanchine's "Concerto Barocco" will open the concert. Set to Concerto in D minor for Two Violins by Johann Sebastian Bach, "Concerto Barocco" is a beautiful example of Balanchine's neoclassical style and has been in the repertory of every major ballet company since its premiere in 1941. Mark Morris' "Canonic 3/4 Studies" is a flamboyant work to waltz rhythms arranged by the pianist Harriet Cavalli. Theatre 14. Nov. 16, Gallagher comes to Symphony Hall for one performance on Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $26.50-$48 and are available at the CityStage Box Office located at One Columbus Center; by calling 788-7033 or at Ticketmaster.com. Gallagher's trademark Sledge-O-Matic has helped vault the comedian to a place of adoration among all his fans who risk going home with melon pulp or lumps of cottage cheese in their hair just to see his act. More than flying bits of food, Gallagher's show incorporates intelligent social and political commentary as only he can deliver. Nov. 17, Cruising Down the River. The Pioneer Valley Chordsmen celebrate the 50th anniversary of Wilson's award winning Broadway hit "The Music Man" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Bellemy Middle School, 314 Pendleton Ave., Chicopee. First Church of Christ in Longmeadow will hold its Annual Christmas Fair "Christmas.on the Green" Dec. 1 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. First Church of Christ in Longmeadow is located at the corner of Williams and Longmeadow Streets. "Christmas.on The Green" will feature live music, a visit from Santa from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and a holiday luncheon from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Hand crafted items, homemade treats. The National Yiddish Book Center, located on the campus of Hampshire College, 1021 West St. will present Klezamir and Xopo in Doina Meets Taksim on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8. Reservations are suggested. These two local bands will offer a unique perspective on klezmer music: its relationship to gypsy and other Eastern European folk music styles. Doina is a Yiddish word that refers to a long improvised solo; taksim is the word used in Balkan music for the same thing. Klezamir features Jim Armenti on clarinet, guitar and mandolin, Amy Rose on piano, accordion and flute, Keith Levreault on drums, Jason Moses on trombone, violin and vocals and Joe Blumenthal on bass. Xopo features Becky Ashenden on accordion and santouri (called tsimbl in Yiddish), Anna Patton on clarinet, Maimon Miller on fiddle, Chuck Corman on accordion, contra fiddle, and tambura, Barbara Blumenthal on tambura, and Joe Blumenthal on bass.
