PRIME – August 2013 GREATER SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The remaining opportunity for women 60 years of age and older to participate in this year's search for Ms. Massachusetts Senior America will take place on Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Goodlife Center, located at 1600 East Columbus Ave. in downtown Springfield. Those vying for this prestigious title will compete in categories including talent, interview, philosophy of life and evening gown. The winner, who will be chosen at the annual state pageant slated for 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Holyoke High School, goes on to represent Massachusetts in Atlantic City at the National Pageant in 2014. Five judges, all with expertise in talent and poise, as well as a national pageant official will evaluate this year's contestants and select a winner. Cherese LeClair, Channel 3 news anchor, will emcee this year's event. State Pageant Director and 2000 Ms. Massachusetts Senior America runner-up Lorraine Gorham encourages all interested women to stop by the Goodlife Center on Aug. 7 to find out more about this life-changing opportunity to help celebrate the savvy and elegance mature women bring to life. "Sixty is the new 40!" Gorham said. In October, former pageant contestants and friends will be travelling to Atlantic City to cheer on the 2013 Ms. Massachusetts Senior America pageant winner, Diane McCoy of Springfield, as she competes in the National Pageant, slated for Oct. 20 to 24 at the Resorts on the Boardwalk. The cost for the trip, including transportation, four nights stay, four buffet meals, $45 in casino play and more, is $250 per person, double occupancy. The public is invited to join the pageant trip.
